… and how does it affect you?
Let’s take it from the top down, starting with our President. Why did he sign the Credit Card Reform Act in 2009 when there was no cap on the interest rates we pay? Did you know Bernie Sanders tried to put a cap on the interest rates, but no Democrat or Republican would support a cap?
Why did Obama choose the health insurance lobbyists rather than doctors and nurses when he had Obamacare written? Why did Obama promise us a public plan, and then break his promise and refuse to even discuss a public plan anymore? The costs of Obamacare will be huge in 2017 because there are no caps on the prices we pay. The increases in some states will be high as 62%!
Why is Obama pushing the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal when the much smaller NAFTA trade deal cost us 5 million jobs and over 60,000 factories were moved into countries with slave labor wages?
Why is Obama considering vetoing a bill that will allow the victims of 9/11 to sue Saudi Arabia for funding the perpetrators who caused 9/11? Why do so many of our past Presidents treat the Saudis as our friends when the Saudis hate us. The recent lifting of restrictions to see documents about 9/11 clearly indicate that the Saudi government was involved in the bombing of 9/11.
In February 2015 King Salman of Saudi Arabia gave Dr. Zakir Naik their highest honor when Naik, a televangelist who has repeatedly stated publicly that America is controlled by Jews, and that the Muslim religion is superior to other religions and that apostates who propagate other religions should be killed! King Salman gave Naik the King Faisal International Prize for service to Islam. Naik received a gold medal plus $ 200,000.
In 2010, Naik was denied entry into Canada and Britain because of his inflammatory remarks about other religions.
The pattern of Obama’s behavior reveals that he has chosen to represent the interests of large corporations over the interests of the American people. I am sure he will be rewarded after he leaves office, just as Bill Clinton has been rewarded for his repealing of the Glass-Steagall Act that has protected us for decades, against financial fraud, and Clinton’s pushing the job killing NAFTA trade deal.
Is Obama alone in the catering to corporations and betraying the public’s interests? Certainly not.
The Republicans have been notorious in calling for cuts in the taxes for the rich, and total disregard for the average working family. They do not support Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. They never create or support any legislation that will favor the 99% . They do not even support having a Minimum Wage! Voting for a Republican Senator or Congress Person is assuring yourself and your family of less and less funding to protect our public schools, less funding to stop Climate Change, less funding for Social Security, and cuts in Medicare and Medicaid. Every Republican candidate for President has denied that Climate Change exists! Now you know where millions of dollars from dirty fuel companies goes when a vote for stopping Climate Change is introduced!
The Democratic Party has slipped terribly from the days when they represented the interests of unions and working families. They pretend that they support a $12 or $15 Minimum Wage but the small print in their bills show a much different story! The $12 or $ 15 raise does not take effect until at least 5 years after it is passed! This means that the current $ 7.25 MW will only grow by small increments until at least 5 years have passed. Meanwhile inflation will grow more every year so by the 5 years are up, the $12 or $15 will be far less valuable than if it was an immediate raise.
The Australian Labor Party, years ago, passed a Minimum Wage law that made their MW increase every year! Today the Australians’ MW is $ 17.29 per hour!
It is my suggestion that we, the 99%, wake up and stage a real revolution and create an America Labor Party that will represent the American people. My website www.BoldThoughts.org teaches you how to create a political party that can win the majority of seats in our Senate and Congress. It is not that difficult, when we organize in each state and ignore the naysayers.
The Gallup Poll found in 2013 and again in 2015 that over 60% of our people want a third party to vote for. The public has flooded the primaries to vote for Trump and Bernie Sanders. The Democratic Party did everything they could to rig the Democratic Primary against Bernie Sanders. We will never know what the votes really were! Bernie represented real change from the rampant bribery now contaminating both of our major parties!
We need to create a Labor Party that will stop our wars and divert the war money to giving us free healthcare and free college for every person. We need a Labor Party that will repeal all the loop holes in our tax system so the rich can no longer hide trillions of untaxed dollars in foreign banks. The tax dodgers should be locked up and the trillions of hidden dollars taxed so Social Security can be increased, so our public schools can be properly funded, so money can be used to pay for the 3.5 trillion dollar backlog in our maintenance of infrastructure, which must include the replacing of all lead pipes that are poisoning our water, and so we can rapidly fund a giant clean energy program that will help stop Climate Change.
We need to recruit honest and talented Labor Party candidates who will sign pledges to not accept any contributions, but to support a law that eliminates bribery in our electoral process as well as within the walls of our state and federal capitols. The current wages for federal offices in our Congress is nearly $ 200,000, plus very lucrative pensions. Consequently, it should attract good candidates to represent the 99% who are not represented now by either bribed party!
If we all work hard and smart we can win a majority of seats in our Senate and House so all of the needs of our people will be achieved.
